The Villa Stella Hotel is situated in one of the best areas of Venice:
the Lido Island.
The southern part of Venice lagoon is protected from open sea by two
long, thin sandbanks with an average width of only a few hundreds
meters. To the north is the Lido, Venice's seaside resort borough.
The Lido is the place to come to escape from the strangeness of Venice
to a normality of a nice sea-town. In summer the Casinò moves
here from Ca' Vendramin between mid June and mid Sept. and provides
some evening glamour.

If you arrive by train, your starting
point is the S. Lucia railway station. The "vaporetto"
stop is just outside it. Take the no.1, it takes you on a ride
through the Grand Canal lasting about a 50 minutes. The no.
51 is a more direct to route to the Lido. The cost is about
3,50 Euro one way. To save money, we suggest you get a 3-day
(72-hour) pass (Euro 18,08) or a one-day (24-hour) pass (Euro
9,30); this give you unlimited rides on the boats and buses.
Upon arrival at the Lido boat station, take either bus B or
B/ and get off at the third stop. |
